Ever have one of those days where the whole family is stressed out, the house is a wreck, and you can feel a cold coming on and you wish there was something simple to sweep the rough edges away? Luckily, there is something simple and all natural that can do just that.

Essential oils are the distilled essences of botanicals like lavender, sage, and jasmine and have been revered for their therapeutic uses for thousands of years. The most respected essential oils company worldwide, Young Living, has been introducing the ancient traditions of their use to people for over 20 years, and we're lucky to have a YL independent distributor Lindsay Handrich here to guide us. Lindsay is one of the rare SoDu natives, born and raised right here in South Durham. She and her husband have three wonderful children (and are expecting their fourth in December) and have been using essential oils in their home for years. She chose Young Living "because they are the leading source of essential oil research and education in the world, and are the world's purest oils. We've used them on our small children from birth on, during pregnancy, and have had great results. I'm passionate about sharing them with the rest of the world and helping other moms and dads to use them safely too! I also offer bio-communication scans which is a great tool to help assess your body's needs. We host classes monthly and all are welcome!"

Young Living's essential oils have set the standard for purity and authenticity with their Seed to Seal process and rigorous quality controls. You can rest assured when you buy their products, knowing that you are actually getting what you pay for, the true liquid essence of botanicals, nothing diluted or contaminated with lesser ingredients. Young Living essential oils can be used in a myriad of ways, whatever works best for you: diffused, inhaled, applied topically, incorporated into massage, or taken internally.

So what are you waiting for?
If you are seeking peace, health, stamina, or more,
essential oils are amazing and Lindsay can show you the way!

So if you're interested, no better time than the present to find out more! Lindsay will be graciously hosting an Intro to Essential Oils class this Thursday Nov 20th where she will also have Zyto scans available. A Zyto scan is an extremely accurate device that uses bio-feedback to determine which oils and supplements your body needs most.

So here's the amazing deal Lindsay is offering for SoDu Parents Posse members only: a free Quick Reference Guide ($20 value) and free Zyto bio-communication scan ($25 value) to anyone who purchases the Premium Starter Kit in November. (Or if you don't want the guide, Lindsay will reimburse your taxes and shipping.) And what's in the new starter kit? All of the oils pictured below plus a free home diffuser that’s pretty amazing and retails over $90! WOW!

I have personally always loved essential oils. I used them to relax while nursing, to energize so I could study on a cold winter morning (much like today) and most importantly, to heal. Thieves oil is my favorite. It was concocted based on stories of thieves in France who covered themselves with aromatics while robbing plague victims and so managed to stay healthy. Don't worry - it sounds spooky, but as long as you're not breaking any laws, you can benefit from their wicked ancient wisdom. ;) In the winter months my family applies it topically mixed with coconut oil and it keeps the bugs away, or if we're sick, it eases the worst symptoms and helps us get better, quicker. YL's proprietary Thieves blend contains clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. It works and it smells amazing!
